Responding to Civil Unrest and ICE Deportations under
President Trump’s 2025 Executive Directives
In mid-2025, a series of aggressive immigration enforcement orders signed by President Donald
Trump have triggered a wave of civil unrest across the United States. The reactivation of mass
deportation operations by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), particularly in sanctuary
cities, has resulted in widespread protests, riots, and clashes between federal agents and local
law enforcement. As reports of raids, family separations, and violations of due process flood the
media, the United States Senate has been called into special session to address the legal,
political, and humanitarian implications of these actions. This committee will simulate a special session of the U.S. Senate, where senators must debate
the constitutionality, morality, and political wisdom of the current immigration policies, their
enforcement mechanisms, and the government’s response to public unrest.
